Slow weekend

Since my last update, I made a case to play on the weekend to get back on track on my game. The biggest problem so far was my lack of commitment to actually sit down and play some poker.

It came the hardest yesterday when after just the first 15 minutes I was already thinking about quitting and doing something else. That, in turn, pushed me into making quite a few bad decisions and, along with that, my BR suffered.

Before last night the BR was at $150 but lost a few bucks in the last session. The plan moving forward would be to move back down to NL2 to move the BR up again and find a way to play more regularly. I need to also remove the distraction and focus on the task at hand. For a moment, my mind was more focused on thinking about playing a game of TFT than the actual poker tables in front of me.

I had a terrible week, that is for sure. A few random incidents—like the water pump in my house getting broken—pushed me out of my comfort zone but those were things outside of my control and can't give them more importance than what they deserve. All the issues are solved so I might as well focus on what's important right now.

Finished Stillness is the Key yesterday so my next target will be actually starting over Poker Math that Matters. I started the book a while ago but never finished it so this is a nice chance to do so. Will also continue with Meditations in my spare time afterward. To continue with the fantasy reading a friend lend me A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms by George R. R. Martin, showing how the guy has time to write spin offs rather than finishing up the main saga but, who am I to judge?

The thing I love the most about Stillness—and all of the previous books for that matter— is how every chapter starts with a story of a person who serves as an example for each lesson. The same thing applied for The Laws of Human Nature which is one of the reasons I enjoyed the book so much. It allows you to get to know interesting people throughout history that I didn't know about or get a better understanding of people I have heard about before.

After 2 years I decided to start playing soccer again. There is an opportunity at my old school of a mini-league of four teams so I'll join to start doing something other than watching Tv and playing on my computer during my spare time.

Trying to set up an email list so feel free to subscribe if you want to. Will schedule my time better to bring more upgrades to the blog and publish more stories on Medium.

With the internet still failing at home I'll have to rely on my phone for now. Will try to get back on track this week and move back to NL5 this very weekend. Bringing a new update next week, until then!
